Hiii,
Whilst visiting home, I treated Daddy and Granny to some Afternoon Tea in the Titanic Hotel, Belfast. I wanted to go away for the day, try something different because it was a late birthday treat from me to them! Here’s what we thought of our experience:
Booking/ Checkin: 10/10
Booking was simple online. Through the ‘Open Table’ app, you select the date, it provides you with the times available in 15 minute intervals & it’s that simple. We originally opted for a different date, we were able to amend this easily through the same process. Accompanied with a confirmation email and reminder text, I liked this reassuring feature. Checkin was equally as simply. We were greatly kindly at the hotel reception and directed to the bar/ lounge area where the afternoon tea is held! No complaints here!

Menu: 8/10
With a selection of 8 Thompson Luxury Tea’s, we were well impressed. I opted for the ‘Single Estate Darjeeling’, which was a fairly wine like tea, sweet and less bitter than breakfast tea. Daddy enjoyed the classic, ‘Titanic Luxury Blend’ and Granny unfortunately had only one decaf option which was the breakfast tea. We loved our food selection. Each person is treated with a selection of 4 sandwich fingers. Which we all swapped around varying on our personal preferences. On the second level of our afternoon tea, we had delicious plain and fruit scones, served with jam & cream of course. These were my favourite of the tea! Finally, we were spoiled with 5 desserts each! The ‘Chocolate and Pistachio Cream Eclair’ was the all around favourite from all three of us. Two little things that would have made this a 10/10, would have been an extra few options for decaf & a little more jam/ cream… there was about enough for one scone. Other than that we were more than pleased with the tour of tasty food!
I should also note that the afternoon tea is also available in vegetarian, gluten free and kids option! Everyone can be included on your lunch experience!

Price: 8/10
During our visit opted for the ‘Regular Afternoon Tea’ experience, which was £35 per person. On arrival you are given then option to upgrade to ‘Sparkling Afternoon Tea’ for £41pp or ‘Champagne Afternoon’ for £46pp. Do I think £35 is worth it? Yes. Do I think it’s a little pricey? Also yes. Would I recommend it? Again, also yes. Without a doubt, we got our money’s worth in terms of food! However, I don’t feel like an open bar/ lounge is a £35 location. While we were having our lunch, there were families with suitcases checking out of the hotel. Alongside business people, with laptops and having meeting calls. I love a deep squishy seat as much as the next person, just not when I’m eating. For granny this was a bit of an issue. As a 5ft lady, the table was a fair bit higher than the armchair we were seated with. If I were to go again with a friend, I would choose to share an afternoon tea with them & this to me would justify the cost. I do recommend the experience because the food was fantastic, the service was excellent and the location is perfect for making a day out of it! I personally just felt like it was on the slightly more expensive side.

Location: 10/10
Fantastic location! Easy parking. On the outskirts of the city, making it less stressful to drive to! Your also in the hub of the ‘Titanic Quarter’! As you walk out the front doors of the Titanic Hotel, you will be able to cross the road and into ‘Titanic Belfast’. Daddy and myself loved this place and visited a few times over the years of the museum being open. It’s interactive, informative and immersive! If you have time to spare before or after your lunch, I cannot recommend visiting this experience enough! Maybe you don’t have too much time on your hands, you can have a look at the ‘Titanic Heritage’. This is you can visit the last remaining ‘White Star Line’ ship in the world! It’s located beside the hotel and it’s free to look at. I should like I’m an ambassador… I promise I’m not! I just love this unique little area of belfast.

Wrapping up this review of Afternoon Tea in the Titanic Hotel, Belfast, we had an overall fantastic experience. A very positive experience with staff, food and booking. These to me are the main factors that determine an enjoyable experience for me! With that being said, I absolutely recommend you to try it out as a lunch date, catch-up with the girls or a family day out enjoying all that the Titanic Quarter has to offer!
