The Best Carry On Luggage | Cabin Max Carry On Tote Review

Hiii,

Little over a year ago, Jordan treated me to my gorgeous Cabin Max X Travel Hack tote. I drooled over it for months after seeing Brogan Tate with it in a packing video. After some investigation into the company, I really wanted it! I raved about it for that long that Jordan finally gave in and took the hint hahaha! Here’s my thoughts after a year of use, if a Carry On tote from Cabin Max is worth it…

Cabin Max

Cabin Max as company has been producing carry on bags since 2007, to fit the maximum capacity requirements. As someone who has been stuck at boarding having to pay £80 because my bag is 1cm too big. Yes this actually happened. The notion of buying a bag with the exact measurements to avoid this is heavenly. As some would say… “Flying close to the sun without getting burnt”!

Cabin Max X Travel Hack Tote

I want to start this by saying, this exact bag is no longer available. However, the Vela tote is very similar. Any of the features I mention in this post will be one that are also available on the Vela tote.

The initial appeal for this bag was how gorgeous it was. Vegan black leather with rose gold hardware. Take my money! Very classy and elegant design. The selling point however, had to be the organisation. Netted zipped pockets, special internal storage for laptops or iPads, external sleeve to attach to your luggage handles & a secret pocket on the sleeve to store your passport or other travel documents!

Not only does this bag have the external sleeve to slide onto your luggage, it also has two handles like a tote and a slick cross body strap too! Love it all!

Pretty. Lightweight. Functional.

Size, Capacity & Airlines

Both my bag and the Vela tote is 45x36x20cm. With an impressive 30L internal capacity! Vela also comes in a smaller size if your interested.

Giving you some context, an average packing capacity for this bag is: 1 large & 1 small compression packing cube, toiletry bag, makeup bag, laptop, chargers, straighteners and personal items. Perfect size for a weekend trip!

Since September of 2022 I have used this bag inflight on easyJet, Air Lingus, British Airways, Virgin Australia and Emirates. I have had no issues with boarding any of these airlines with this bag!

I mentioned briefly packing for weekend trips, I’ve brought this bag on multiple staycations in the car too! For me it’s the perfect size in the car. By no means big and bulky, making it also ideal for road trips!

Price

As I mentioned, I didn’t buy this bag… Jordan also can’t remember how much it cost (lol). I will base my thoughts off the Vela bag price, since it’s pretty much the same bag.

For £48 you are getting a fantastic quality, beautiful looking and super reliable carry on bag.

Is it on the spenny side? Yes. Do I think it’s worth the investment? Also yes.

Depending on how much you travel, I feel like this is a staple item to have on hand. It’s very versatile and can be brought on board most flights!

Maybe your not the biggest holiday goer or weekend tripper, but you know someone who is. Having been given this as a gift, I can attest that makes a fantastic present! It’s just such a beautiful bag that I think anyone who packs on the regular will appreciate this! Maybe pop on the notes for a Christmas present idea…

As a whole I can confirm I am so grateful that Jordan️ bought this bag for me. She is so well loved and always gets a compliment when I travel! After all the travelling we’ve done in the last year, there is no visible wear and tear! A few light scratches was buffed out nicely with my Doc Marten boot polish. Good as new again! Truly recommend this 10/10.
