I LOVE GOOD FOOD. I LOVE IT.
When Hannah and myself booked our trip to London to goal was to chill out as much as possible, focus on seeing some sights, eating good food and being present !
We done exactly that.
If you are planning on going to London and not sure what to budget for eating… this is the post for you! Or if your like me & love looking at what people eat lol.
Day 1:

Starting our day off with a big breakfast at L’Opera in South Kensington. I had the Lotus Biscoff French Toast, it was the softest brioche French toast with plenty of toppings as you can see in the image ! This giant breakfast was £11 & I feel this was very reasonable giving the portion, quickness and location in London !
On our way back to the tube station we stopped for a coffee in for an Anya’s Cafe which was £3.70. Really smooth coffee and probably one of the nicest I’ve had in London… the cute cup maybe impacted this decision too 🙂
We skipped lunch and just nibbled through the day & had thee most delicious dinner of the entire trip… Flat Iron Steakhouse. This was only £16 !!! You would never even get these prices here at home never mind London. This restaurant was to inviting and cosy. As your seated your given complimentary popcorn and water while you wait for your food. I ordered the flat iron steak and crispy bone marrow garlic mash, this mash is unlike anything I’ve ever had. I actually enjoyed it more than the steak! The steak was a bit cold, but nothing to complain about just something to mention. Lastly as you leave you are giving a complimentary ice cream in a tasty waffle cone… HOW AMAZING FOR £16!!!
Lastly I can’t not mention… Be At One Cocktail Bars. We discovered these cocktail bars in October 2021 & had been dying to get back since! They have a huge selection of cocktails for everyones taste, including 6 Mocktails which you don’t get very often! I had the Raspberry Beret which was £10 & contained- Absolut Raspberry vodka · Chambord Black Raspberry liqueur · Blue Curaçao · Cranberry · Raspberry · Lemon · Lemonade. This basically tasted like candy floss & I LOVED IT!
This brought our grand total of day one eating out in London to: £40.70
Honourable mentions of the eats in London which we enjoyed during our break away:

- The Cheese Wheel in Camden Markets- My god this was a cheesy heaven! We shared this because we weren’t hungry enough for one each but in hindsight, you only need 1 because of how rich it is. You watch them hand making the pasta, cooking it and stirring it in the giant cheese wheel! I can’t remember exact how much it was but I think it was around £7? 10/10 recommend!
- Emelia’s Hand Crafted Pasta in St. Katherines Dock- This place is a very classic Italian style restaurant, small, cosy, a very family feel environment. I had the homemade creamy walnut sauce with chestnut mushroom casarecce. This was absolutely incredible, it tasted expensive. That’s the only way I can describe it! You could taste the quality and effort in every bite! Again very reasonably priced at £12.50 for this big bowl of goodness!
- Pig Dogs in Greenwich Market- Slow smoked southern bbq pulled pork sandwich… that was a mouthful lol. Again my and Hannah shared this meal & again 1 portion is definitely enough. I don’t like pork, in fact I avoid it at all costs. The lovely man at the stall offered us a sample and me being the awkward human I am, took it and had to eat it in front of him lol. I genuinely couldn’t believe that it was pork because it was so delicious! This was £8 I think and worth every penny, especially if you want a tasty snack to share.

It goes without saying that London can be expensive eating out, although it can also be as affordable as you need it to be!
I spent roughly £200 on food and drink over the 3 full days we were there & don’t feel like we held back in anyways!
