Hiii,
From the second we knew we were going home, I knew I wanted a girls night away! Kintala is based in Dungiven, where I live and ultimately this was the deciding factor of booking. Having stayed one night in the ‘Exclusive Luxury Lodge with Private Hot Tub and Sauna’, here’s a full run down on our experience!
Location
6/10. I’m saying this as perceptive of someone who has travelled some distance to stay here. It’s remote to the town, you will need to drive! There’s also very little activities other than drinking and eating to do in Dungiven. However, as a cosy getaway the location is perfect for what we wanted! On that basis all 4 of us gave it a 10/10! Being on the edge of the town, you can see or hear no traces of it from Kintala. For someone who has lived in Dungiven all my life, it was weird to me that it was so unrecognisable! Ample amount of car parking, close to the lodges which is always a nice touch when carrying luggage.

Bedroom, Bathroom & Living Area
10/10. I’ve mentioned in previous hotel reviews, I don’t enjoy small rooms. I like to have space to live in the room, rather than being confined to the bed. The luxury lodge “Benbradagh” which we stayed felt like a home! Having no space was certainly not an issue with this luxurious open plan room. Hosted with a king bed and beautiful rich sofa, transforming into the second bed. Both beds were comfortable and clean. On the topic of clean, the toilet & shower room was very well kept. A touch we hugely appreciated was the bathroom being stocked with 4 of everything, shower gels, shampoos, soap, towels and robes. These products also smelt incredible! Very luxe spa vibes. The kitchenette was stocked with plates, cutlery, cups and glassware. Again, a nice touch to make our stay feel that bit more homely. No complaints about anything with regards to the lodge itself!

Check- In Experience and Facilities
10/10. Before our stay, we completed a short online checkin. This allowed us a quick and seamless checkin on arrival! We were warmly welcomed in reception by a lovely staff member, given our keys & that was checkin complete. As the name ‘Exclusive Luxury Lodge with Private Hot Tub and Sauna’ suggests, these facilities were available to us on our own deck. Hot tub was bubbling away on arrival, ready to jump in! Clean, spacious and no signs of wear, we were very pleased with the hot tub experience. The private sauna required a 2 hour preheat. Similar to the hot tub, the sauna was clean, roomy and in perfect condition! Night of arrival & morning of departure we made use of both facilities and loved every second. Especially the view from the hot tub! A few other facilities we noticed on site included a barbecue area, outdoor picnic tables, a swing chair enjoy to enjoy the view of the river roe and a play park for kids staying. We didn’t make use of these extras, we were too busy in our own little bubble! However, I can see these facilities proving popular, especially during the summer months.

In conclusion, do I think £319 for 4 adults staying in the ‘Exclusive Luxury Lodge with Private Hot Tub and Sauna’ at Kintala is worth it? Absolutely! From the luxurious feel to the stay to the serene atmosphere, we loved our every second. It’s worth noting that spa treatments are also available for add on! I have experienced their Indian head massage & head, neck and back massage on a prior trip. If you were staying an extra night I would highly recommend adding these on, to add to your relaxing day experience. It’s a privilege that an incredible resort like this is so close to home!
