Perth | Hidden Cabins Western Australia

Hi,

Let me take you on quick escape with this cosy, wholesome cabin review.

Hidden Cabins offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of life, with a collection of charming, off-the-grid retreats nestled in scenic locations around Western Australia.

Let me breakdown our experience as a couple soaking up a 20-hour offline retreat in Hidden Cabin ‘Florence’, just two hours from Perth.

Location: 5/5

One of the most exciting aspects of staying with Hidden Cabins is that the location is a surprise– it’s only revealed after you’ve booked.

This may seem daunting but just know Hidden Cabins has three secret locations, all within three hours of Perth CBD, waiting to be explored. They are never too far away!

This added to the element of adventure during our stay, as part of the fun was discovering where the retreat will be once we arrived.

It’s a unique way to disconnect and embrace the thrill of an unknown getaway!

I won’t spoil the surprise of Florence’s location, what I will share is this cabin is tucked away in the peaceful Pinjarup bush, offering complete privacy with no other sights around.

It was the perfect place to unwind and truly relax.

Amenities: 4/5

I love how Hidden Cabins support local businesses by sourcing amenities locally—something I deeply appreciate as a former small business owner.

The ‘Florence’ cabin had everything we needed, with a kitchenette stocked with locally sourced meals (we cooked our own using the gas oven and barbecue) and a rustic bathroom with beautiful body products.

There’s no wifi, but don’t worry, there’s a drawer full of board games and playing cards for offline fun!

We enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate outside, surrounded by trees and wildlife, we simply felt grounded by the time we left.

The only thing I missed was a bath, those views would have been perfect for a relaxing soak. But I get how others would enjoy the simplicity of the cabin without it.

Room Experience: 5/5

The bedroom was definitely the highlight of our stay- comfy, cosy, and impossible to resist. The king-sized bed, framed by two large windows overlooking the Pinjarra bush, was pure bliss.

The open-plan cabin had fly net doors for great airflow, especially after cooking. And yes, there were conveniently placed sockets and three USB ports beside the bed—if you’ve read my hotel reviews before you’ll know I’m all for good throughout sockets placement!

Despite the air conditioning only being allowed for two hours, the fan kept us cool, and the wood-burning stove would be perfect for winter.

The cabin’s cleanliness was spotless, truly, it felt brand new.

For those who love a good candid shot, this place has serious Pinterest vibes!

Honourable Mentions:

I usually book travel 6-8 weeks in advance, but this time I arranged a stay with Hidden Cabins just 4 days ahead.

Despite their two-night minimum, Ash was kind enough to accommodate us for one night with a small additional fee.

From a handwritten welcome note, to little how-tos scattered throughout the cabin, these personal touches made us feel right at home.

Big thanks to the amazing staff at Hidden Cabins for making our stay so memorable!

Summary

Would I pay $350 AUD again for a stay at Hidden Cabins? Absolutely. I’m already eyeing their other two cabins, ‘Margot’ and ‘Henry’.

This getaway was unlike any other local trip we’ve had, thanks to the thoughtful details and peaceful, nature-filled setting. It felt like a luxury experience, all while staying within a mid-range budget.

As always thank you for being here!
