Location: 5/5

Yallingup, in Western Australia’s Margaret River region, is surrounded in stunning coastlines, turquoise water beaches, and serene rock pools. The Yallingup and Dunsborough area is our go-to spot when we need a peaceful getaway to recharge.

Dunsborough, Yallingup & Indijup Guide

Injidup Natural Spa and Eagle Bay are less than 15 minutes from the lodge, perfect for a sunset swim or a relaxing afternoon by the water.

Dunsborough town is only a 10-minute drive away and offers a variety of delicious local dining options. A must-try is the garlic prawns at Occy’s– one of my personal favourites.

For a relaxing weekend filled with good food, slow mornings, and breathtaking scenery, Yallingup Lodge & Spa Retreat is in the perfect location.

Amenities: 5/5

A few standout amenities that enhanced our stay included the private garden jacuzzi bath and the in-room coffee machine with complimentary coffee, added to the secluded experience we wanted. I also loved the thoughtful sample of Om Day Spa’s signature sugar scrub, a delightful introduction to their offerings.

If a well-stocked snack and mini bar tops your list of must-have amenities, this lodge will exceed expectations! I’ve rarely come across a place that offers such an impressive variety, truly catering to all tastes.

Free, convenient parking is always a plus and worth highlighting, especially since it’s not a given at many lodges or cabin stays.

Though we didn’t get a chance to use it, the large outdoor pool, complete with deck chairs, looked like a perfect spot for a quiet day by the pool. It’s open from November to April, ideal for those warmer months.

Lastly, while we didn’t book any treatments, it’s worth noting that the Om Day Spa offers a variety of massage, facial, and aromatherapy options, fitting the lodge’s relaxing atmosphere.

Room Experience: 5/5

During our stay, we chose the ‘Shiraz’ suite, which offered a mix of comfort and country charm.

The room featured a king-sized bed with luxuriously soft bedding, a little living area with arm chair and ottoman, a small wardrobe, and, as I mentioned earlier, an impressively stocked mini bar.

We enjoyed the smart TV and couldn’t resist turning on the electric fireplace to add to the cosy ambience, though it’s worth noting that it doesn’t provide heat. Thankfully, the air conditioning was exceptional- a feature we greatly appreciated during the early summer months.

For my regular readers, you’ll be happy to hear that there were plenty of conveniently placed plugs within reach of the bed- always a plus!

The bathroom was spacious and thoughtfully equipped with Ideology body care products, adding a touch of luxury to our routine.

Stepping into the private garden, we found a two-person chair and table set, perfect for morning coffee or a quiet evening. And of course, the highlight – the jacuzzi – made for the ultimate relaxing experience.

Honourable Mentions:

A special shout-out goes to Bella from Yallingup Lodge and Spa Retreat. Although we didn’t meet in person, her warm and accommodating approach over the phone made our check-in seamless and stress-free. Bella’s attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly stood out, and I wish her every success in the hospitality industry – she deserves it!

At $336 AUD for one night in Southwest Australia, this stay has set the bar as our most affordable luxury cabin/lodge experience and marks my first-ever 5-star review on the blog.

I couldn’t find a single flaw in our visit, and that alone says a lot, especially given the price point.

Summary

The ‘Shiraz’ suite, complete with cozy amenities and a private garden jacuzzi, along with seamless check-in and attentive service, made for a flawless visit.

For relaxation and value in Southwest Australia, it’s a top pick from me!
