First Time Guide To Magic Kingdom | Walt Disney World Florida Guide

Hiii,

No better way to commemorate 365 days since our last Disney World trip than a Magic Kingdom 101 guide! First timers or regular Disney World goers alike, this guide is full of useful screenshots and tips to elevate your Disney World experience! As a Disney Vacation Specialist (ABTA & ATOL protected), I’ve trained with Disney Stars. This is their official vacation training certification. Not only can I help you book your dream Disney holiday, I can also give you FREE advice & planning from my own experience & what I’ve learnt officially!

What is Magic Kingdom?

Magic Kingdom is exactly what you imagine Disney World to look like. Home to Cinderella’s magical castle. Wonder and fantasy is everywhere in Magic Kingdom! With 6 enchanted lands and over 40 magical attractions make it a place where Disneys fantasies and characters timelessly come to life!

TOP TIP: Make the most of your time and head straight to Adventureland when starting your Magic Kingdom day. Most people start in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland, to avoid the morning crowds make your merry way through Main Street USA and take right to explore the magic of Adventureland.

Attractions & Rides

Kids Attractions: “It’s a Small World”, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Big Thrills: Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and new to 2022 TRON Lightcycle Power Run!

Family Fun: Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Range Spin, Haunted Mansion and Prince Charming Regal Carousel.

Dining

Magic Kingdom has an incredible variety of basic chicken tenders and fries options or on the flip side there is no shortage of finer dining options! There is something here for everyone to enjoy.

TOP TIP: Download the My Disney Experience app ahead of time & make your in park dining experience more convenient! You can preorder your food and select an arrival time, you never have to wait!

Here are my favourite Quick Service spots in Magic Kingdom:

  • Cosmic Rays Starlight Café– Here you’ll find the best simple food, bacon cheeseburgers to chicken strips to plant-based burgers! We are here multiple times over our trip, you can dine here in Tomorrowland.
  • Cheshire Café– Pastries and light refreshments are available in this QS location found in Fantasyland. If there is one snack you treat yourself to in Magic Kingdom, it’s must be the Cheshire Cat Tail treat!
  • Casey’s Corner– American baseball favourites can be found here including hot dogs, corn dog nuggets and French fries. The corn dog nuggets are a must, you can enjoy these on Main Street USA!

Have look at all the different Quick Service options available around each of the lands! You can screenshot these as an easy map to where you can eat on your trip!

Parades & Character Experiences & Fireworks

Happily Ever After is the current “fireworks extravaganza featuring lights, lasers and special effects––including all-new projections down Main Street, U.S.A.”. Truth be told I haven’t experienced this show yet. During our trip we had the magical experience seeing Enchantment, which was their 50th Anniversary celebratory show! If Happily Ever After is of the same level of amazing, then your in for a treat! An emotional, heart warming, putting the world right show!

Festival of Fantasy Parade is a 12 minute celebration of tales from Fantasyland, through Disney music and dance! We got to join in on the fun, we walked through Main Street U.S.A. to see as many characters as possible! Meanwhile many family’s took seats throughout the park! Either way it’s a really fun time for everyone, kids and adults alike, dancing & singing around the park!

Character meets are found throughout all of Magic Kingdom! Personally, I didn’t use any of our time meeting characters. However, I know many people who wouldn’t go a trip without! It’s all about personal preference.

You can find the show times & character destinations on the My Disney Experience app & schedule your evening, a must do experience while in Magic Kingdom!

This concludes my Magic Kingdom 101 Guide! I hope this makes your planning or holiday easier & less daunting! There’s a lot to know about WDW before going, every little bit of knowledge helps make your experience even more valuable & memorable.
