WDW Florida | Is it Worth Visiting Without Children?

The age old myth… Disney parks are for children or “Disney Adults”.

As a couple in our 20’s who don’t fall into either of them categories, we found a lot of activities that we would encourage you to enjoy before bringing the family.

While it’s easy to stereotype the parks to princess castles and character meets, which it is. There is also so much more!

Thriving with thrill rides, fine dining with delicious cocktails, date night locations.

Ultimately there is as many things to do without kids! Let’s have a look at these perks you may enjoy more as adults visiting Walt Disney World Florida.

Thrill Rides

Having been lucky enough to experience most of these thrill rides in the Walt Disney World parks, I’ve attached links to ‘point of view’ videos for you to get a feel for the thrill too!

TRON Lightcycle Run

This is brand new coaster in Magic Kingdom this year (2023). We haven’t had the chance to race through the Grid yet but our day will come!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

My all time favourite theme park ride! All your favourite songs from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and the coaster itself is like something I’ve never experienced before!

This EPCOT’s newest ride as of 2022. We were hooked.

We may or may not have gone on it 3 times during our 14 day holiday

It’s also one of the largest fully enclosed coasters in the world.

Not to mention featuring Disney’s first ever reverse launch!

Star Wars Rise of the Resistance & Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run

Neither myself or Jordan are huge Star Wars fan. In fact I’ve probably only ever watched 1 full movie.

The level of theming and immersion in the queue for Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run was insane.

In fact the level of theming in Batuu, the entire space in Hollywood Studios is breathtaking.

I was completely mesmerised by every single thing in our surrounding.

Star Wars Rise of the Resistance has rave reviews from every person I have spoke to!

We didn’t get to experience it for ourselves because we ran out of time, but it’s something we’re both very excited to experience when we are back in the Disney bubble!

Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

This was the most unexpected thrill ride for us!

Walking into Animal Kingdom, we didn’t expect this park to have any big thrill rides.

Little did we know this ride was a hidden gem.

Watch the video & I’m sure you’ll understand what I mean.

Honourable Mentions

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. A high speed coaster, enclosed coaster and run in the dark, currently themed around Aerosmith.

I think the Muppets are going to take over this place ride in the coming years!

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Was a first of its kind attraction to use an elevator system as the basis of the ride!

It’s also a park icon in Hollywood Studios. The cast members at this attraction always make me laugh!

Disney Dates

You want a day away from the adrenaline of the parks, but still want a taste for the luxury and quality Disney produces.

Spa Day

Consider a spa day, chill and pamper at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort or Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort.

You don’t have to be a guest of either of these hotels, to enjoy this experience! You book it separately.

Movie Night

Movies Under the Stars. If your a Disney resort guest of any hotel on property, you can mosey over to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to enjoy an outdoor cinema experience!

Cosy up, have a snack or a delicious cocktail and relax after a big day at the parks.

Crazy Golf

Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens are two highly themed crazy golf options for the perfect Disney date!

If you purchase a your Disney Magic Ticket in the UK or Ireland before you go on holidays. A round of crazy golf is FREE with your ticket before 4pm!

Disney Springs

After you’ve beat your partner in crazy golf, you can treat them to a cheeky beverage in Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar.

Located in Disney Springs you can admire the 1940s airplane hanger turned into dive bar.

Maybe you want a break from theming and just want a nice view Blaze Pizza is a classic!

Long story short, you have no shortage of options with 60 dining venues across property to choose from.

Disney Springs also has over 100 retail stores to browse. Including both Disney merchandise stores and some popular shops!

Last but not least, the end the perfect date by soaring across the resort in worlds largest hand painted helium balloon!

Summary

I’ve only skimmed the surface of some of the best parts of Walt Disney World, Florida for adults to enjoy.

Thrill rides, date ideas and top tier dining, makes it feel like a place for adults to have fun in!

As always, thank you for being here.
