Ribs Lane | Perth’s American-Style BBQ Review

Hiii,

The newly opened Ribs Lane is an American-Style BBQ Restaurant in Mount Lawley, Perth. With an extensive menu offering “12-hour BBQ smoked ribs, premium burgers, and saucy wings – served alongside an epic range of mouth-watering desserts and local beers”. We visited today, to see how good it really was & was it worth the hype?

Location

Ribs Lane is situated on Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, a short 10 minute drive from Perth city centre! There is no direct parking available, however this didn’t effect us as we found a small car park less than a minutes walk from the restaurant. Mount Lawley is a busy place, but plenty of parking is available in the surrounding areas, maybe considering allowing extra time to find parking before visiting!

Menu

Greeted with a complimentary jug of water is a nice touch that we appreciated! The menu is home to beef/ chicken burgers, pork/lamb/beef ribs, chicken wings and tasty desserts including sweet waffles, crepes and greek donuts! I felt there was a good range of options on the menu, not too many that you feel overwhelmed. Staff were incredibly accepting to changing their menu items, such as removing items from the burgers and happy to add new items.

Food Review

I ordered the Peri Peri Chicken Burger meal and Jordan had the Burger and Ribs combo meal. My burger come with “buttermilk peri chicken, tasty cheese, grilled halloumi, avocado, tomato, red onion & chilli aioli”. I chose to remove the red onion and as mentioned above I had no issue with doing this. I cannot express enough how high the quality of all ingredients were! The chicken was juicy, tomato crispy, avocado bright green and the halloumi was soft not rubbery. Genuinely 10/10 for this burger. Jordan enjoyed his Burger and Ribs Combo! Opting for a simply cheeseburger, no salad or sauce & again staff were perfectly accepting to this menu adaptation. I should not Jordan originally ordered beef ribs, however there were none available and ordered pork ribs instead. In Jordan’s words “The ribs were too saucy, just the right amount. There is plenty of meat on the ribs too”. Again the quality of meat on this dish was an incredibly high standard! Jordan rated his meal 9/10, allowing a one point deduction for not being able to order the beef ribs, which I feel is fair. Overall a beautiful, fresh, great quality dining experience in Ribs Lane today!

Price

$68.24 covered our meals and two cans of Coke Zero. I feel like this was a very reasonable price for both the quality and quantity of food we enjoyed. Neither of us left hungry, I couldn’t actually finish my meal. It’s an aesthetically pleasing restaurant too, which I feel is reflected in the price too. I can’t find any negatives in our experience that would make me feel this was an over priced experience!

Overall Review

From the staff, quality of food, range of menu items, the cool theming, these positive characteristics of our experience will be bringing us back to sample more on the menu! I think on our next trip we will go for a dessert date. We seen a couple beside us enjoying their sweet waffles and I can assure you we will be going back to sample these!

Highly recommend Ribs Lane for good lunch or a fun date night!

*UPDATE*

Since originally writing this blog in June, we have sampled their sweet waffle desserts and made use of the takeaway service! Both are fantastic options and has bumped this overall review up to a 9/10. An incredible spot for both dining in and taking away. I ordered our waffles at 7:40pm, I was able to collect them in store ready to go at 7:55pm. Quick, easy and delicious.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried Ribs Lane or if you have any American-Style BBQ favourites in Perth?
